I’d feel like a hypocrite if I didn’t ask myself the same questions I’ve asked the other generous people who’ve taken time to contribute. Here goes…
LaQuinta. 29. New York, NY
1. In a few sentences or less, please describe what you look for in a mate. Start at initial attraction & go from there.
“I would be a liar if I didn’t say that chocolate men make me weak. The beauty in their complexion is poetic to me. Then there’s the gentlemen who tower in height. I love tall men. The muscular build.. all of that is my weakness. Above all though is what sustains me… the incredible sense of humor that “gets” my jokes and references. He must know Christ & honor Him. I dig integrity, responsibility, intellect and drive. I think that’s the blueprint for amazing.”
2. What are your current dating goals? What are you looking for?
“Currently I’m just looking to find someone I can be completely nude with emotionally and mentally. I’m not necessarily looking for a boyfriend or a husband (at this moment lol)… just someone that I can speak of in his absence and immediately wish he was there. I want that best friend that everyone says they found in the marriage videos. I want to build to that.”
3. Why do you think you are currently single?
“Because contrary to my own belief, I’m just not ready for a relationship. I’m on a journey to self love that goes beyond verbal affirmations. I’ve always had a healthy self esteem, & I was convinced of my undying love for myself but in my most recent dating experience I did not represent that love in my actions. The things I tolerated and unofficially accepted made me not recognize or like the woman that was looking back at me in the mirror. So I’m single because of 2 main reasons. 1. It’s about time I swept my own self off my feet. 2. I haven’t met a man that can handle the freedom that comes with the type of girlfriend I am.”
Would you like to add anything additional?
“Yes. I still believe in soul mates.”
